Chronic pain and financial toxicity

IBME is a project partner of the “FINK” project. The background to the project is that chronic diseases such as cancer or diabetes cause high healthcare costs. These costs are largely borne by the patients themselves, their relatives and caregivers. However, the financial burden on those affected has hardly been researched in Switzerland up to now. The aim of the project is to develop a concept of the financial burden and its impact on the well-being of those affected and to record the extent of the financial burden in Switzerland.
