Migration and flight are among the most pressing issues of our time and the reality of our lives. The core elements of the course, which addresses this highly relevant topic in a broad perspective, are transdisciplinary seminars divided into five course blocks:

  1. politics, law, society;
  2. health and healthcare
  3. profession, education, integration;
  4. intercultural communication;
  5. international cooperation (in cooperation with the WHO, UNHCR and UNAIDS).

The seminars are flanked by an e-learning tool with self-study units and a practical project with one of the above-mentioned international organizations or refugee initiatives. The course participants are evaluated on the basis of team presentations in the seminars, the completion of tasks in the e-learning tool, an essay and a reflection diary on the practical project. Through the course, participants not only acquire basic knowledge and relevant skills on the topics of migration, flight and intercultural communication, but also learn about opportunities for civic engagement and career prospects in this area and gain insights into current research at UZH on these topics.
