New Publication by Fayez Abdulrazeq, Julian W. März, Nikola Biller-Andorno, and Chris Gastmans

Fayez Abdulrazeq, Julian W. März, Nikola Biller-Andorno, and Chris Gastmans have new publication in the Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy journal, entitled «Healthcare Providers' Advocacy Approaches and Ethical Challenges in Delivering Healthcare to Undocumented Migrants: A Scoping Review».

The aim of the paper is to consolidate evidence from qualitative literature on the advocacy strategies employed by healthcare providers and the ethical challenges they face in their advocacy roles.
Their findings reveal that healthcare providers consciously chose to engage in advocacy, driven by an internal sense of empowerment that extended beyond their professional duties. The decision to advocate often stemmed from witnessing the injustices faced by undocumented migrants. The advocacy efforts varied significantly, including voluntary participation, empathetic understanding, and healthcare-centered strategies—all aimed at addressing the critical issue of limited access to healthcare services.
