Digital Health Design Living Lab

The Digital Health Design Living Lab (DHD LL) is a co-creative, interdisciplinary hub that brings together a wide range of healthcare stakeholders with experts from the three initiating Zurich universities (ZHdK, UZH, and ZHAW) to actively shape the future of digital healthcare together. The DHD LL promotes research & development projects, educational & training activities and promotes participatory formats to sustain joint dialogue and collaboration with experts and the public, raising awareness of digital health. The IBME is a co‑founding institution of the DHD LL.

The IBME is actively involved in research projects of the DHD LL that include:

• Toward human-centered healthcare:
  Understanding, measuring, and promoting Co-Creation of Care (CCC) as a mutually beneficial interaction between healthcare staff and patients       
• Ethical dimensions of digital technology-assisted physiotherapy:
  Fundamentals for ethics education of physiotherapists 
• A human-centered approach to the application of AI in Emergency Medicine:
  A scenario-based evaluation of different levels of AI support 
• Preference-sensitive decision-making in case of severe acute brain injuries:
  Using AI to infer preferences of incapacitated severe acute brain injury patients
• DIPEx Swiss – Database of Individual Patients’ Experiences: 
  DIPEx Switzerland collects patient narratives to improve healthcare, provide open resources, and foster collaboration in the Medical Humanities.
