Tania Manríquez Roa was interviewed for an article in the Swiss newspaper NZZ discussing the contemporary practice of self-experimentation. The article examines whether this approach is heroic or reckless, showcasing how researchers often turn themselves into test subjects to achieve groundbreaking results. For instance, a Croatian scientist cured her own cancer using viruses she cultivated herself. Although self-experimentation has a long tradition, it is now largely conducted in secrecy and outside the formal research system.
