New Publication: Advancing AI Governance in Clinical Research through a Swiss Case Study
The paper is the result of a highly productive interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together expertise from law, clinical research, and technology, in cooperation with Gunnar Rätsch, Christa Stamm-Pfister, and Regina Maria Grossmann.
Using a Swiss case study on training a clinical large language model with unstructured medical data and high-performance computing, the article examines key challenges in AI governance. Grounded in data protection principles, it offers practical recommendations for researchers, ethics committees, and policymakers in Switzerland and beyond.
The work builds on an ongoing project, and we look forward to its further development as it moves into the next phase.
